Notes: | This is a really cool custom D-18 from 1988. It was made for a little guitar shop in Northfield, Minnesota, called Wetterlund Guitars, and it's based on the D-18. What makes it a custom is that the braces are "Lightly Scalloped" (thus the "LS1" designation on the interior label). And the bridge and fingerboard are ebony (normal D-18s have Rosewood). You can see the actual build sheet below. It's been well loved and cared for over the past 20 years. It does have a couple of dings on the top, which you should be able to see in the photos. There's also a minor blemish on the neck, right next to the heel (also pictured). And there's some finish cracking on the lower part of the sides and bottom (also pictured). It has a pickup, by the way, and sounds fantastic through our Genz Benz. This guitar is really a precursor to Martin's current D-18V. (This one has a low-profile neck, though, NOT a Modified V.) |
